Dear Pepe, I Don’t Know What to Tell You
2025 · Diptych, óleo sobre tabla · 146 × 92 cm
This work begins with a letter written by my great-grandmother Maruja to my great-grandfather Pepe during their long-distance relationship between Dénia and Argentina, in the first year of my grandmother Clara’s life. Reading it, I recognised doubts, boundaries and emotional conflicts that resonated with my own experiences. Painting brings image and writing together to ask how certain emotions and ways of relating to one another recur across generations.
