Time Stitched Together

The work grows out of several generations of my family’s relationship with the port of Dénia, fishing and net-making. Family photographs, newspaper fragments and the seascape coexist with a net made from the canvas itself. The piece reflects on disappearing trades, changes to the local landscape and echoes that cross generations. Like a net, family memory needs its connections to be cared for if it is not to unravel.
